GoPro mounted on hood of Polaris, sledder sidehilling triggers slide 100M above him, 1 meter deep. Pulled SnoPulse airbag backpack to stay afloat. Sled burried, sledder not.

Kirk thinking the same thing. He had an air bag but no lid. lol. Worry more about my grill than my roof. Busted teeth suck, so many trips to the dentist. Which sucks. I like my helmet, keeps my head warm and dry, helmet cam mounted, and broken teeth out of my smile.

I like the shot of the snow moving down the hill...pretty wild.

Also I would never ride without a helmet.

Friend of mine who lived in Nelson knows this guy personally
a picture of slab that let go. Good to hear i just got a snowpulse

and yes it was a snopulse that kept me afloat

Details, man, details!

Where?
When? (date/time of day)
Slope aspect?
Time since last snowfall?
Did you check the avy hazard report before going out? If so what was the rating?
What, if anything would you do different?
How has this experience changed your outlook?
Did your snowpulse bag work as advertised? Any pos/neg feedback for possible future designs?

Looks like a south facing slope around midday from the shadows with new snow over previous tracks.

Not looking to dump on you. Help us expand the knowledge base.

BTW, glad you are ok, protect yourself man. Head injuries are tough to come back from and you can protect yourself from 95% of them by wearing a bucket.

Thanks for sharing that you all wear helmets! good for you!

I'd like to nominate that as the "weakest try at a come back". You should try pulling someones hair next time too lol. So, you don't wear a helmet? Cool guy, eh? Trying to impress all the guys out there?

pretty harsh crowd.

My guess is the guy got off of work, and took off from his house, and **** happened.

tim

I still don't know anyone who doesn't ride with lid, but yet he had his snopulse???

I am not going to deny, that if you grab an avy pack, you usually grab a helment. But who knows. Maybe the pack had his ipod in it. who knows.

I see this as a missed opportunity because instead of taking the opportunity to find out more about the avy and how the bag worked and any feedback he had about it, he got run off by people who couldn't get past the fact he wasn't wearing a helmet and couldn't seem to help but insult him about it. I don't get not wearing a helmet either, but I was a lot more interested in the info on the avy and how well the snowpulse worked. Obviously it did work because he survived but would have been nice to get a first hand report. We all know about head injuries. I wanted to learn about the avalanche.
