Needle or Float?

Well since the USPS lost my two front WE air shocks while they were headed to Riverside CA for a rebuild, it's time to get new ski shocks.

My question is which shock is "better" for all around mountain riding? I primarily ride in the snowies since it's within a hour and a half of me. I have to ride some trails to get to and from the powder stashes. Oh it's for a 07 D7.

So help me spend my $800 insurance claim. Needles or Float-2's?

The Float 2 or spring for the Evol R, I have the R's on front and REALLY like them, but have also nothing bad to say about the Needles, just like the ride of the R's the best.

I put on some W/E needles from tri-city performance, they have dual rate springs and custom valving. I tried them out yesterday and they felt really good, they are good for all riding conditions and if one would happen to blow out the side wont drop like a air shock will.

Ya, right now I'm leaning towards the needles from Tri-City. I agree that having a spring instead of air makes them more bullet proof and easier to limp back to the truck if something goes wrong. But the floats are lighter weight and have a pretty good track record. Hmm???

They are pretty much the same price. TC has the needles for $660.

Carls has the float2's for $695.

I just hope the postal circus gets me a check before spring!!
