Needing a crank or???

My son broke the crank in his 96 Polaris XLT a few weeks ago and I need a replacement. Any ideas? I have contacted Tri City and they don't repair them. They sent me to SLP and they quoted me $650.00 minimum. I have found a used one (Still in the motor and not sure of it's condition) in Heber for $250.00 but would rather spend that money on repairing the one I have.
Anyone here know of a local guy/shop that does this kind of work for a decent price? The sled is only worth $900 tops (In great shape, just needs a crank) so I don't want to spend a shload getting her back on the snow.

Contact JJ machinery in Logan.......heard very good things about their work. When I rebuild mine that will be where I go.

I have one of their cranks in my 800 twin. It came true.

We'll see how it holds up.
It's got about 50mi on it so far.

whats wrong with it exactly, broken, bad rod brng., bad main brng.? could be an easy fix or just find another one. are the cases worn in the brng. journals?

The crank snapped between the first and second lobe on the PTO side. Looks like it could be pressed out and a new one pressed back in. Babbitsonline sells the parts, I just don't have the tools or knowhow...

So I ended up going to JJ Machine shop in Logan. Jeremy is a super nice guy and knows his stuff! Highly recommended! The crank I picked up is a remanufactured (Fresh this morning) for $275.00. It has all new bearings, the rods were used but in great condition, and it was trued and indexed before I got there. Can't ask for more than that
