NEED TURBO INFO

Hi guys I am wanting to put a turbo kit on my 2010 HCR. I have narrowed my search down to three kits cutlers, push, twisted. cant make up my mind, probably would like to run 12 lbs of boost in the hills and 7 at home. any info that might help make my decision easyr would be great.

The only reason I push the cutler kit is that we can easily run 12 psi without having to deal with a 4 injector kit.

As far AS I KNOW... the other two won't do that.

Other than that... you'll be happy with any of them, all good kits.

Push seems less set to deal with the customer if you're going to self install, but that's the only downside I can think of for that kit.

12 psi is fun... you'll love it, stupid power, but still practical.

Like backcountry said, Twisted ,Cutler. I am the only local 2 stroke turbo , so no other kits to compare to. My twisted sled flat out makes horsepower. Never heard a bad word about cutler either.

It is hard to put into words how much fun it is to ride a turbo sled.
Hope you pull the trigger.

Boondockers

So you've excluded Boondocker? I've had an 07 M8 Turbo with the Boondockers Race Gas kit running 12 pounds of boost, zero problems. My current sled is an 08 M8 Turbo with a different Boondockers Race Gas kit, I run between 13 and 15 pounds of boost, I've had zero problems with the kit, minus a finicky fuel pump.
I've only spoken with Boondocker once about starting numbers and they were more than helpful.

I honestly don't care what kit people choose, just wanted to tell you my experience with Boondocker. Disclosure: I haven't tried any of the other kits...

Twisted!, my reasons, oil delete so you know your always at a 40:1 mix, a 2876 turbo not the little 2860, I converted the twisted to a tunnel dump and the cutler wont without flipping around the turbo. and a few other things. Either is going to work.

I've been running 12 lbs on 2 injectors. The right parts and the correct fuel. I ride 6000-9000 feet mostly. I start from about 2000 feet when unloading in the parking lot.

I have been running a Push, about 9 lbs boost with a high compression head and single injector. The thing rips!

I'm running 12 psi with a 2010 head and single injectors. I have played with this set up, up to 14 psi, for those odd times when I want to tear up a big chute. You are right with the higher compression head, they rip! Nice difference through the entire range.

Push uses a bigger custom turbo (right) 2871 hybrid as does twisted 2876 (cutler 2860) and the bigger high flow turbos run more power on lower boost with less chance of deto and quicker response. equals less boost but same power and lower level with single injector. But cutler also uses a specific fuel system that keeps a constant fuel source. They all have there own way.

Yeah, I was more interested in specifics of the fuel system on how to get a pump gas kit to run 12lbs. After reviewing Cutlers site, it appears that they replace the fuel pump on pump gas kits with only two injectors. I don't think there is any magic in his fuel pressure regulator, and his fuel box is an attitude. I have always thought that the fuel pump and injectors were sized very close to each other, and wondered if I was running out of duty cycle, or fuel flow, seems that cutler thinks it is fuel flow.

I just replaced my stock fuel pump with a high flow one, so I guess i'll find out if I can push enough fuel to run 12 lbs.

Disclaimer** Obviously, the term pump gas is just referring to the fuel system. I can get away with 9 lbs on pump gas, and could prob get away with 12lbs at high altitude, but with all the ethanol crap, definitely be running some Avgas.

Replacing the in tank pump with a larger unit can be done on any kit, just make sure to add the cat electrical upgrade and run power for the pump from there. You can then run the original fuel power source for you accessories. I do really like his regulator and used it on my twisted kit last year.

The fuel pressure regulator on Cutler stage two is also not a 1:1, not sure exactly but its more like a 2:1.
