Any idea what transfer case it is? If it's a 1356 they had a TON of issues with the planetary units coming apart and they'll free wheel when you get outta the gas. Easiest way to tell is put it in low range and see if the problem goes away. When you do that it drops the reduction hub into the planetary unit and locks it up. Let me know if that fixes it, i got a ton of parts for those here at my shop if you need any.

Then it ain't a 205, them bastages are cast iron and freakin heavy. If it's aluminum it will probably be the BW 1356. Shocker is right, it's probably in the planetary set. Try it in low and see if it still happens. Also does it happen in all gears?
