Need to rent a car in San Diego...

We are going to San Diego for ten days. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to rent from? Prefer to rent right from the airport.
Thanks

I'm a Budget guy myself. With my insurance (USAA) and military discount, they're cheap. My insurance provides full coverage of the car, including the lost-revenue if it is in an accident and has to be fixed. Try to find some company you're affiliated with that gets you a discount on the rental, or at the least, call your insurance and see who they can set you up with so that you have coverage of the car w/o paying the extra $$$. I did a 4-day weekend for $76 + gas at the beginning of this month.

I know there is an avis and a hertz right on site. Probably more.
Also enterprise will pick you up at the airport.

Great time of year to be in San Diego.:cool::beer;

There are some great rental car (and hotel) deals in So Cal on Hotwire right now. I'd be starting there.

Looking at hotwire now but I can't see where it tells you who the car is from and where you pick up and drop off. Can someone help me out with it. It looks like it wants payment info before it tells you this info.

They only tell you who you've rented with after you've paid, so you have trust them.
I understood that car rentals were the airport in big places like SD. I've used them for hotel rooms quite a few times with no problem....... but you have to trust their ratings.

I just got back from LA, the cheapest I found searching individual companies websites was $49 per day. I tried priceline but they wouldn't accept any of my bids. In the end I only paid $135 total including tax and fees for 5 days from Thrifty for a PT cruiser. I found the deal on http://www.carrentalsavers.com
Have a great trip!

priceline.com and name your own price. I usually bid about $12-15 a day.

Just booked one for seattle at $13 a day for 3 days... :D

Thanks all. Booked a full size for 250.00...taxes incl at carrentalsavers.com. I like that you can pick the rental company (Thrifty) and they don't take any credit card info until you get to the rental desk.

Leave tomorrow for ten glorious days of dragging 3 boys under the age of 10 around San Diego...oh ya the wife is coming too!
