Need to pull flywheel to split the cases?

I have my 08 700 RMK tore apart (single ring piston broke the ring and tore up a jug) and I'm trying to split the case. It's separating on the PTO side but the mag side is acting like there is another bolt holding it together. Is there one behind the flywheel that I can't see? Thanks!

You have to pull the flywheel. The stator plate is holding it together.

Yes you must pull the flywheel and take the stater off it is bolted to each side of the case.

Ok. Thanks for the help guys. Looks like one more special tool I have to purchase that I will probably use once in my life!

i wish they would do a different design.......i think alot of motors are the same. it always seems like you are almost there then BAM 9 oclock at night you need a special tool of some kind
