Need some Yamaha advise

Looking at making the move from 2 stroke to turbo nytro and need some advise from you all because i literally know very little about yamaha but i know the engines are great. little better than my dragon 800 i suppose. I have came across a pretty sweet deal on a 2010 nytro push turbo 163 or 162 track what ever it is with really low miles (about 300). Is there anything i should be aware of with this particular year or any questions i should be asking with this sled? I should have asked these questions before i bought the dragon and 2 new engines later i am regreting it. Any good word or words of advise would be appreciated. It is the 180 Kit or whatever they refer it as. Thanks for the input.

How sweet is the deal? Maybe you should turn me on to it so you are not disappointed by the heavy weight and foul handling. :face-icon-small-win I bought a 2011 153 (for my wife:lol:) and I like riding it better than my SC Apex. Any Yamaha steers a little heavy but they are a lot of fun to ride!

As far as...

As far as, ..is there anything you shoulld be aware of??? You should be aware that you will have a huge smile to deal with, ..perhaps even a perma-grin!! You will also have to deal with the thought of not having to dump huge money into replacement engines, or engine parts. You may even find that you don't need to replace the sled as it will last for many years, ...and still beat the two strokes for power. It may take some getting used to, ..but your wallet will be heavier after leaving the gas pumps too, ..not to mention that stinky two stroke oil smell and expense. Hahaha

I am not familiar with the Push Turbo systems, but the Nytro's are great!!

Enjoy!!

OK..I was being a bit of a smart a** but there is not too much to worry about with a Nytro that only has 300 miles on it. It could have hit something and bent a subframe but that is unlikely. The Push Turbo that I am running has been flawless this season and am very happy with it. You may need to check how much boost it is running because it can be adjusted and make sure the fuel settings are set correctly. I bought mine last spring and would buy another if I were looking for a sled. PaulHarris on here is a Push dealer so maybe he has some other input.

thanks for the input from you guys. i just want some honest input and i think that there is not any huge known problems to deal with. Sounds like i might give some weight and steering but power to weight and reliability seem to be good. Thanks for the input to a Yami newbi or at least pretty close to a Yami newbi.

Coming off a dragon I think you will be surprised at how much less tinkering there is to do on a 4 stroke. Since 2008 this is the first year ive had to actually put money into replacement parts for my nytro, everything else I have done to this point has been optional.

Maybe a dumb question to ask in the Yamaha section but will this run with or outrun the cat 1100T? I've rode one of those and thing really pulled hard.

yes unless the 1100t has a bunch of upgrades it should be a bit faster.

I can offer some comparison,I am a tech at a Cat dealer and have a good friend with a 2013 1100T limited. We trade off sleds when riding,I have to be honest and say the Cat is very impressive in stock form. We haven't put the sleds on the scale yet,but the Cat does seem lighter, and takes flight easier. The Cat chassis is more nimble and holds an edge easier sidehilling. Power feels very close, although delivery is different as could be expected. I think the partnership of Cat and Yamaha will produce some interesting and innovating machines.
