07 M8 162.I have just over 5000km on it. I installed a SLP pipe kit a BDX intake and attitude fuel controller. I went from 71g down to 69g with no big gainin rpm. im spinning around 7800-8000 at the most. I ride between 5000-8000 feet at the most. I rebuild my secondary with a 42/36 helix high torque rollers. orange spring with a shift assist. My primary has a yellow/white with dalton ajustable weights. The springs have around 4000km on them. Could this be my problem? They looked to be in great shape. But im wondering if this might be some of the problem? Any input would be great.

Heck yea get rid of those springs. Install a new orange in the secondary and an slp blue/yellow 140/310 in the primary. I change mine out once a year. By the way some dyno's show peak power at 7900 rpm with the slp pipe. I know a lot of guys shoot for 8100 but mine pulled best at 7900-8000.

Are they good springs for playing in the trees and climbing? can i add more weight to my primary with them?

I'm running 73.75g weights with an SLP 140/300 primary. Ride about the same altitude as you and pull 8000 RPM all day long. Thats in an 08 162.:beer;

Icedog...

What are running in your secondary? Stock? Different helix?

What do most guys run for springs? I have herd alot about the arctic cat gold spring?

I tried the AC gold and the D&D white. Both springs I found the engagement to be a bit low for my liking.

What are the OEM yellow/white #'s so know where im starting at? im thinking around 140/185 but im not sure?

FYI,

SLP likes to see 8100-8150 with thier pipe kit. I can tell you I had it clutched all jacked up at first, pulling 7950-8000 at most. The extra 100 rpm is alot. I pull 8250 down at the lower areas 8150 up where it counts ! Shoot for 8100

Might also consider a new belt to join you new springs

Might try the SLP Black springs, also. I personally like the SLP 120 engagement vs the 140, plus I put in one washer to prevent bind.

I found the AC gold 75 lb engagement too low (but I'm ported, so bottom end can be touchy at my 9-12K alt).

AC yellow/white is 122/285.

Remember that SLP springs are measured at different distances than OEM Cat. As a rule of thumb, subtrack ~8-10 lbs from the SLP numbers to get the true lbs in a AC primary. 120/310 SLP (blk/y) = 111/301 (adj), 140/310 (blue/y)= 132/302 (adj).
