Need some info on a snowmobile lift

I want to build a snowmobile lift for a project in school. Has anybody made one by themselves, and know what the dimentions are to make one? Also if you made one, did you use the hydrolic lift on it or did you use somthing else. Thanks for any Help

Did you try Google?

I typed "snowmobile lift plans" on google and found some pretty good choices. Let us know how the class project turns out, I'll bet you could sell a few on here.
I have not looked into it much but have wondered about the feasibility of a chain drive lift in lieu of hydraulic ram.

Good luck

I added this air over hydraulic on mine. The lift cylinder with the air actuator is from Harbor Tools and is used for their cherry pickers. I think I bought it for around $75 complete. Just hook up the air hose and go.

Make sure your throw distances and scissor angles work out during a mock up first. I dropped my Apex twice getting it right. Good luck. EW

I love the "little" tub on the top shelf labeled: Spare Parts.

I have several of these tubs but I don't put a reminder as to what they are, I don't like to think about all the broken sleds from the past.

Nice lift! Will it lay flat enough to hang on the wall when not in use?

It's funny, I have several of those spare parts tubs. Anything that is sled specific is in a tub of its own so the spare stuff ends up being all the risers, bars, bags, etc. that I didn't like or found better. The local teens get a kick out of raiding my stash as they mod their home grown monsters. It's a hoot watching their creative minds at work as the find ways to make new parts fit. For them, I throw away nothing.

The lift does hang on a bike hook in the wall during the off season. The lift is from Northern Tool and comes as a manual screw jack type. After I toasted it with my cordless impact gun (it did last quite a while) I added the air/hyd. We had to change how the rear wheels were mounted and I stull throw a 2x4 over the rubber stub that contacts the foot wells. Tf I did a second one I could do a lot of improvement.

These wheels are shown inline, they come turned out which makes it too wide for modern sleds.

I'm just a couple days out of a stomach surgery, so I'm a bit limited, but pm me in a week or so and I'll get ya part numbers and better pics, or build ya one when we slow down at work which is late Oct. Have a good one. EW

Anyone try the eazy move lift yet?

I'm thinking about buying one.

I bought a Mar-Lift and have been very happy with it. It uses a cable crank much like a boat trailer, but it is clutched so it won't free fall and it stays at whatever level you leave it. Take a look Mar-Lift . Good luck. EW
