Need some help, yellow wire cut on fuel pump harness- normal?

Just putting my 13 back together and noticed there's a cut in the plastic protective wrap and a yellow wire that is cut as well.

Yellow wire comes out of the fuel pump assembly up to the cut in the wrap. NO yellow wire is attached to the plug end.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Or is there supposed to be a yellow wire from the tank to the plug?

None of mine even have the yellow wire, I think The yellow is used for the level indicator on the trail sled models. As all the newer sleds use the same plastic pump and they differ only by the pick-up assembly and the level switch from the looks of things.

It was cut on mine as well
