need some expert advise on sleds

ok guys, I know this is the RMK section but I am looking at two sleds and cant decide whats better. First is a 2000 powder special 700 with a 144 and second is a 2000 RMK800 151. Both have fairly low miles (under 2000) and are stock under the hood. I know the RMKs have the crank issues but heard it wasnt till 2001. I dont know much about cats except that they are suppose to be lighter. I am coming off a 98 mach1 144 and am affraid the cat might be a disapointment. Oh yeah, there both the same price too. So give me your take as Im a rookie

800 with the 151 for sure, but I thought the 151 didn't come out until 2001. I don't believe the crank is any different between the two years, the only motor difference is the 2001 came with a high compression head. I have an 01 and no crank issue so far and my dad had one stock except a can and ran good until a piston came apart at about 8500 miles. Rode with a guy that had a 600 powder special about that year and it was not a very good sled at all, I think the main problem was chronic clutch issues.

2000 800 RMK is a solid sled....as long as clutches are maintained yearly. Also you wont be disappointed in the power of the good ole 800 Polaris. I had a '01 and simply LOVED it! I would go with the Polaris for sure. Good Luck.:face-icon-small-coo
