need some advice... blown M7 engine, primary clutch

looking for some advice on how to go forward. Yesterday was not good, i blew my primary clutch and then my engine. the primary is cracked all the way through and toast. the engine lost a lower bearing on the connecting rod on one side. wondering what others think i should do? Or ideas on parts? or part it out? trying to figure out if you guys think it is worth it to rebuild it or junk it for parts?

It is a 2006 M7 162 with about 3000 miles on it

Any ideas would be great

Thank You

You probably have about $1400 in parts to buy, if you do the entire engine and new clutch. Sleds worth $4000 to $4500 depending on overall condition with a good engine. I doubt you have much more than $1500 in parts to sell. I think it more depends on if you can do your own work and how long did you intend on keeping the sled. If you need to hire the work done, it may tip the scales in favor of parting it out. Close call

I've got a used primary in great condition, pm me if you want it. As far as a motor, check swap meet and ebay. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one for $1000.00.

I see you have tried to contact 2strokeboost about his engine. It sounds like a good deal if you can get it shipped down. Shipping from canada is the pitts!

I have contacted him. Need to figure out an overall plan and quick would be nice. I can do the engine for sure. Not sure about the primary. How to do it and what a used one is worth. Any pointers would be helpful. 850 for that engine and shipping or going to get it would be about $1000 either way. Do you think an engine for $1000 would be reasonable to find?

It sounds like a low mile engine and it sounds like a good deal. If you could find anyway that he could have someone get it to the states and then ship it, that would be the way to go. New clutches from RV sports (highmark18) are about $270 plus shipping. They are new and you need to put the spring and weights into them. Used ones are usually $150 to $200 and come with weights and springs. I personally would go new, but it's not my checkbook! Shipping out of canada can take up to a month or more. If customs get their hands on it, they pass it along at their convienience, and gov't workers never hurry!

I cross the Canadian border frequently and you could send it to an friends adrress in Lethbridge and I'll bring it across for ya and ship it.. Just for the cost of shipping, let me now if I can help.

not sure about the engine. Had a Turbo on it at one point. Still figuring it out. Your offer is impressive and I thank you for such a large gesture to someone you don't even know their real name. Thanks
