We're showing Nebraska the tail lites and checking if there is a winter route better/faster/easier/shorter than another to get from I-80 up to IP ...looking at gettin off at Rock Springs and heading up 191, then either to Jackson and over to Hyway 20 .. or breaking off and going thru Alpine and down and around to Idaho falls and up ... .any thoughts????? . ..we have about 5 hours yet to decide before it's time to turn one way or the other so posting this up for a little assistance.. thanks for any help ..

If you are pulling a trailer I dont think you can take the route thru Jackson because no trailer traffic is allowed on Teton Pass until April 1st.

1st option - Looks like u could do the Hoback Junction 89 to Alpine.

2nd option - Just past Little America on I80, turn right and go thru Kemmerer, Afton, Alpine, Rexburg. This is the alternate route in google maps.

The second two routes are almost the exact same mileage and time according to google maps. The Little America route is showing like 3 minutes less.

80 to Rock Springs, then Pinedale to Alpine, right at the junction to Idaho Falls. Take a right at the first light ucon road. Will pop you out right on highway 20. Roads are all clear around here.
