Need opinions

Looking at a few 05 800 and 900 rmk's. I thing 2 are anniversary addition. What are a few of the major pro's/cons. Looking at weight and reliability mainly. I have not been around Polaris much and am not even sure if these are edge or IQ chassis. If this is posted in wrong section I'm sorry. Any insight on either size would be much appreciated. If this is a bad year, what is a better more reliable size and year. Not wanting to spend more than $5000

There are some loyal 900 owners on here (that are pretty good wrenchers too) that swear by their torquey 900s once they have had the numerous updates done by Polaris, but if that isn't you I would suggest sticking with the more tried and true 800. 2005 was a split year with the 800 being in the EDGE chassis and the 900 debuting the IQ chassis. By 2005 the EDGE chassis was as good as it was going to get....and if you were/are a fan of the sit-down style it was as good a sled for that as was ever made. And by now you can get a pretty sweet EDGE chassis sled with lots done to it already for that price range you are describing (see the swap meet section and you will see what I mean). Good luck with your search!:face-icon-small-hap

In that price range you should be looking for a 2007 or 2008 700 Dragon/RMK.

For reliability and ease of ownership with plenty of power you really cant beat the injected 700's.

The 2008's had a more refined track and some other benefits.

The 900's have a list of items to deal with... The 800 Big Blocks in the 2005's have a history of crank failures.
