Need of some insight on 2017 m8

I have a 2017 153 m8 with a 2.6 track
I am thinking about do a tunnel cut but am wondering if a different track would make a big difference as well…I am having a hard time just digging in the snow and getting stuck I’m a light guy about 180 just trying to fix the problem

I have two with the 3" track and one with the 2.6. There is a huge difference I think between the two. I have read some people have cut the small lugs off to mimic the 3" and they said it helped. I have not done that so not sure on that but if you have chance to get a 3" Powerclaw on the sled I would do it.

I did a tunnel cut on one of mine and not sure it made big traction difference but it made big difference in how easily it goes through deep powder. It doesn't feel like it drags in the snow nearly as much any more. I think having a tube style running board makes a big difference on how easily the sled goes through deep snow also.

leave tunnel and put some ice age 162 rails and the 3" on and she won't want to burn in on ya anymore.
or you can do a bunch of other stuff - high rise bumper, narrow boards, drop rear of skid...

IMO benefits of a tunnel cut are waaaay overstated. I would not expect any changes. You probably just need more seat time
