Need material to make expanded metal or plastic??

Looking to make up some smaller vents and am just looking for a metal or plastic material to cut and fit into opening. Any ideas on where to find a extrude aluminum with small holes or a black plastic with similar look? Stuff like pictured aluminum or plastic...problem is its a only sold in larger sheets and need small amount.

The stuff I have is thin gauge steel, it is used to make spiral pipe for the HVAC industry. It is something like 4" wide on a giant roll, I used it for my side panel vents, works ok. It is used for double wall insulated duct. As far as weight compared to aluminum if it small wouldn't make much differance. If you only need it less than 4" x ? let me know and I can mail ya some.
