I have read over some of the threads on this subject and I know that this is one of those subjects that gets beat to death but I can't find any input on this exact combo. So here goes.

I have an 06 crossfire currently with 800bb motor ported high compression that is very strong. I would guess 165 hp pretty easily. I currently run a 144x2 camo extreme with stock gearing (60/60). With this setup I feel like I have it clutched pretty much spot on for where I ride. 6000ft and up.

Now for my question, I have made the decision to go to a 153x2.25 challenger. I know I have to change to extrovert drivers to do that. Does going to the 8 tooth driver gear down the sled to begin with????

And will the 60/60 gearing be too tall to spin that track fast enough? What gearing would you guys suggest.

I have a drive shaft out of an 07 M8 that has the stock drivers on it if you are looking for one. I would also guess about 57/63 or 56/64 for gears but I guess that depends on where and how you ride. I'm guessing the 153 is for the mountains, so I would say go 56/64. There's also a new set of BDX 56/64's for sale in the swap.

What do you want for the shaft and drivers? Just wanted to add that the stock m1000 comes with 60/60 gears and i would say I'm in that range power wise. Does that add to the dilemma? Thanks

The stock 1000 does come with 60/60s but most people around here gear them down to cut down on clutch heat and it improves the bottom end. If you are drag or lake racing or maybe chute climbing, stay with the tall gears but if you are riding trees, and playing in the powder, gear it down. As for the drivers...they are just sitting around so pay the shipping and they're yours.
