need help

fire up sled ride for 2kms dash display goes dim some sort of power bar slowly goes down and display goes black loose all power,shut off sled fire works for anther 2km and does same thing any thoughts posting for a buddy.. thanks guys 09 rmk 800

Sounds like a bad voltage regulator. Don't ride it to long like that, it will eventually take out the ECU.

vr tell ale signs of failing.

i had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday on my 2010 dragon 8. So the question i have is would the vr and capacitor that polaris recommends replacing with the vr be covered under warranty.Is the updated vr less prone to failure and what can i do to not lose another vr.i would have kept riding the sled without the working cluster if i hadnt had seen this as i had just rolled the sled and just figured that the roling rattled the cluster inop.thanks for the info

2010's are known to come with poor VR's, I had an '10 600 and the VR went on the 7th ride. The replacement VR's seem to be holding up well, I think it was a bad batch.
