I am looking to get a new used sled. I currently have an 05 RMK anniversary edition with 166" track. I am a novice rider. I am looking for a replacement sled between 2008 and 2010. Should I look for a 154-155" track machine or longer. I really like my polaris but they have a lot of engine issues. Would a ski-doo of that era be a better choice over a dragon? If this is in the wrong area sorry but any good advice would be helpful

Get an '07 700 Dragon. Nothing wrong with that 900 engine, clutch it, vent it, remove excess weight. But being novice it is too much for you.

I have been thinking about getting an 08-09 Ski-doo summit 154" track. They seem to be pretty good. Also they don't have the engine issues that the polaris do from that era. I don't really want a 700 as they are hard to find. 154" track seems like a good place to start. I bought the 900 because it was cheap and in really great condition.

If you're not used to Doo XP's then get something a little more user friendly, IMO. M8, D8 with a good engine.
An 09-10 M8 would fit the bill nicely. If you don't need all the power, 09's have all the new M features except the extra hp of the '10 and up models. Still run great at 145? hp.
Otherwise the XP is a nice sled, I just don't prefer how much effort they take to lay over.
