Need Help!

i have a 2001 600 summit, everything stock other the sno stuff can....It starts fine, 1 to 2 pulls, runs at 2k rpms. but i go to take(after its warm) off and i pin it and it tops out at 40 and sounds like crap. i rode 35 miles that trip and it didnt change at all. the trip before i had no problems at all.What could this be and what could i do to fix it?

What do the plugs look like? clean the carbs, check the reed boots for delamination, make sure the DPM is hooked up, check to make sure there is no moisture in the DPM lines, just a few things to check first.

i put new plugs in during the trip, twice!! and i plan to clean the carbs this week. i will see what happens.
