Need help with oil pump.

So I had to take the engine back out of my assault to replace an o ring on the lower fuel rail. I also noticed that when I pulled the throttle all the way in and released it, the oil pump arm would not go all the way back to the idle position. It it almost like the spring is not strong enough to move it all the way back. I had all of this apart a little while ago when i had the engine out. Has anyone else had any experience with this? What can I do to make a little more tension on the spring or maybe the oil pump shaft is sticking and needs replacement?
Thanks.

both of ours are that way also...I was told by someone in the know that when the engine is running and the pump is spinning, it creates pressure against the mechanism. The pressure, along with the spring, close it when you let the throttle off.

This is what Struthers will tell you also.

JIC...I've been able to get them to retract easily by spraying some Zep 45 or PB Blaster behind the arm assy. while feathering throttle. They usually will return (engine off) and be fine with little work. If it doesn't, check the throttle cable closely.
