Need Help With High Deff Video Camera

I am looking do get a really good High deffinition video camera. any pointers on what to look for would help out a lot.

I do not want one that records to mini dvd's or tapes I would like one with a good hard drive...

I just bought a sony HD Hanycam HDR-CX7. films full hd 1080 onto a memory stick. I got the 8 gig Pro Duo stick, but they are coming out with a 16 gig Pro Duo card in a couple months. The price was just about 1K for the cam. Footage is awesome and you cant beat the size of this thing. very small and compact. I''d recommend it...

for the money...this is a very good HD consumer grade camera IMO...

the panasonic HDC-SD5BNDL. about $900, 3 chip, records to a stick and has good glass and features. super small too!

you can save a ton of storage by shooting 720p instead of 1080i and it is very hard to see a difference. 720 is what most of the tv networks are using for programming and sports.

I'm not too thrilled about AVCHD and it's related codec. Is Avid or FCP supporting this yet ? Looking into either the EX1 or HPX500, but not sure about the EX1's longGOP vs Panny's iframe. Although the size difference makes me want to go with the Sony. Have you heard of an HVX300 yet ? thoughts ?
