Need help with destination

Hey guys and gals,

Here is the deal. We are flat landers from Manitoba and we have made 2 trips to Revelstoke BC and are now looking for a new destination for our 3rd year.

We are all running 136" tracks with either 1.75" or 2" lugs except for a Nytro XTX with 1.75" lugs.

We are not big climbers (I'm sure you figured that out already) we mostly build jumps, find drifts, small drops and play in the powder. With a small amount of minor climbing.

So we have narrowed this season's trip down to:

Golden BC

Sicamous BC (Likely stay at Rene's lodge)

Cooke City MT

Any advice or feedback on which to choose and why or where to stay or where to ride would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lots of good choices out here. Golden is very good, riding areas are challenging with good variety. Stay at the Golden Rim, they will treat you right. Plan to ride Quartz Creek for starters, possibly Silent Pass and/or Gorman although there are climbing challenges to both of them. (minor but can be intimidating to some) If you rode Revy in the past you will have no problems.
I rode Sicamous last year and it is fantastic. In fact we drove to Enderby from Sicamous (1/2 hour) and rode Hunter's Range. I would highly recommend this destination as it is alot less climbing than some others but amazing boondocking, rolling hills and valley's, big area, and ton's of snow.
Let me know when your coming out, if it happens we're out riding we can give your group some guidance.
Good luck, don't be afraid to mix it up, there are a ton of amazing areas that are no where near as busy as Revy and the riding is spectacular.
Cheers,

I am in the same boat you are in ( or should I say sled). I have been to Cooke a number of times on my Crossfire with 2" track. But mostly in spring snow. So that can make a big difference. Last year over the holiday's there was so much snow it actually sucked. Go figure. But for me Cooke is a very well diverse place with great people to go with it. And you can always hop on the trail and head to Top Of The World for a day's ride also. Either way have fun and be safe.

Both around Golden. Quarts is right off the side of the Trans Canada Hiway at the bottom of the Rogers Pass. Silent Pass is south of Golden at Parsons...a bit of a drive up a logging road to unload though.

Have you considered Trout Lake? It's south of Revy, a little out of the way but the riding is great.
