Need help thinking of buying a 800 rev for my mom!!

What should i look out for i had a rev and sold it year before last as i was having back surgey, im around a couple once in a while, but whats things to look out for or problems. Ive always been more and know more about polaris and cats. The sleds a 06 summit adrenaline with a 144'' track and 2300 miles slp can and its already needed a crank 600 miles ago so he did that and a top end. I know some were good and some were bad, is that kind of normal for revs ? Were 06 a bad year ? Anything else i should look out for ? Thanks guys also what would you say is a good price ? He's asking $3100, need help quick so i can make a decision and jump on this sled if im going to. Thanks in advance!!!

Edit: Also whats the power difference between a 800 rev and 600 rev and the weight difference, found a 05 600 rev for $3000 as well just debating if thats worth it for her also.

the 06 rev was one of there best years ,i think the weight difference is about 20lbs ,the 600s ive been around seem to last forever ,i think the 600 is about 120hp and the 800 in that year 145hp. are they both completly stock?

They both have cans and there both right around 2200 miles and the 600 is like $100 cheaper. They also both have 144's. Like i said i had a 800 for a very short time, i just want something reliable for her but still some power. I know some 800 skidoos (not trying to bash or anything) did have problems kind of a hit and miss just like the 800 dragons and m1000s but with this it kind of scars me because its already got a new crank 600 miles ago and a top end cause it needed a crank. Im just looking to hear a bit about both and what you guys think i should get her, shes about 120lbs so shes pretty small. How many of you ride 600s ? What should i look out for on these sleds ? Also what sled do you guys think i should get her ? Also do are the 600 and 800 pipe interchangable ?

the skidoo 800s aren't really what you would call reliable I bought a 06 summit x 800 brand new and rode it in the mountians,I left it completly stock except for a can it lasted 3200 miles and the engine went but was replaced under warranty ,i don't know of too many that lasted much longer, the 600s on the other hand, many have 5000 plus miles on them and are still a very capably sled, and clutch parts last alot longer as well.Unless your mom is a experienced
rider i think the 600 would probably be lots, and really blow her hair back.
edit: the pipes don't interchange

Ok and ya shes expierenced, shes been riding all her life. Ive seen her out ride men. For her size also shes very good but considering her size a 600 would probably be good and i know she could "work" the sled and all when she needs to. Ive thought about selling my m7 and finding a 800 rev again. My 800 rev with a bmp pipe a ypipe and hps can had quit a bit of power i just sold it cause of my back surgey had 4000 miles with a rebuild and only a 144 etc. Me and my dad buy all of our sleds out of the states i could probably get about $5000+ for my sled ive thought i could pick up a 800 rev for around $3000 or so then once its imported pay about $3600 total do a head and pipe can etc. and be under $5000 if i shop around and buy some stuff used. I want to get a new sled but i dont.....

For your Mom the 600 or 800 would be a great sled just depends on how much power she wants.

The 2006 was the best year for the Rev 800 and the most reliable, yes you will find flukes like dicey had but those are far and few between.

If you found a 2006 Summit 800 for $3000 look it over real good that is about $2000 less than they are normally going for.

Ya well hes willing to take offers and its already cheap, i firgure i could get him down to at least $2800 its just for that heap and already having a new crank and top end with only 2200 miles and only bieng his backup it kind of worrys me. Also the 600 the guy is $3000 firm im just going to leave that one.

The 800 pull start on a cold day is hard for even a man. The 600 is easier to ride, steer and start and has lots of power for a light weight rider.
