Need help(spark)

sled is a 01 srx 700. sled ran fine last year. stored it all summer long and sold it to a friend. went to give it to him and would not fire. messed with it for about 2 hrs and brought it to the shop. has no spark. thought it was the stator and they had one laying around. put it in and fired right up. ran for 5 min than shut it down. tried it later about 1 hr later no spark again

any ideas what it could be....did not fry the stators. both still work. asked yami teck line and they still havent responded

any ideas......
