need help: Sharp Feedback in steering column after collision repair

Buddy hit a rock earlier this season. Ended up needing both sets of arms, a shock, sway bar linkage and steering rod the clutch side. After being repaired the sled seems to get a sharp feedback through the steering column whenever you ride it over anything harder. Any one have any idea what would cause this? To me when I ride it, it feels like the suspension is hammering up so hard that it feels like a hammer is hitting the bottom side of the steering post

I was wondering possibly the same thing. If the new shock was pooched and bottoming out, could that be the impact we are seeing transfer through the steering system?

We have looked at the shock, and it seems to be quite strong, pressure is good on it, and it will not collapse by any means that we can produce on a work bench

Then that may your problem. You should be able to collapse the shock a little by putting a long bolt or bar through the spindle hole and pressing or pulling down on it. Tis is a n older thread but I assume the pressures have not changed much.

If it is not collapsing it will transfer the energy through the sled to the "A" frame and on to you.
