Need help on new sled decision

I live in Mn and ride offtrail in north Mn and UP along with 1 trip out west. Deciding between 13 800 Assault 144 and pro 800 155. Its hard to pass up the light weight and belt drive on the Pro. Rented pro 800 last 2 years in Wyo and loved it. I have a 2011 doo backcountry but love the agility of the pro chassis. Please share your thoughts

800 pro assault 144 would be best it gets around just find out west and great back in MN. 155 is overkill in MN

I live in MN as well. I had a 2011 SBA and 2012 Pro RMK last year. Granted we never had much snow last year, but I didn't put one mile on the SBA. Every mile I put on was on the RMK outwest. For 2013 I have a new RMK coming and sold the SBA.

I found the SBA to be a very good machine on and off trail. However, it was not great at either. My biggest complaint in the mountains with the SBA was the ski stance. Tree running I cound't fit where others could. Secondly, it seems like when it was put on its side it had a tipping point I could never get comfortable with. If your group runs 155" or 163" outwest you will not be happy with a 144". As a matter of fact, some groups I ride with wouldn't let a 144" tag along. Perfect world would be a 155"/163" RMK for outwest and a Pro-r/rush for in MN.

Good luck with your decision. However, if you buy the SBA and continue to travel outwest, I will put money on the fact your next machine is an RMK. I would say over 75% of the people who had a SBA in 2011/2012 that bought a new machine bought an RMK. This is merely an observation from looking in various forums.

I also had an sba last year with a 2" paddle that I took out west I now have 13 pro 155

If your true passion is mts like mine than by a pro 155

I'd rather have the best where I enjoy riding the most even if I only go out once
