Need Help on M sled's

we are stumped on the Cats. Love the sled"s however I have experianced a 06-m7 and a 05 m5 doing similare things, such as sled is running and after shuttting it off it will not restart for a while. My m7 did this multible times and seemed to be after I would start it and say the lefty throttle was stuck and quickly shut it down. then it would not restart for about 5 minutes like it had a timer in it. during this time out there was no fuel pressure. Now a buddy's m6 crapped out and he replaced the fuel pump only to have it continue to do the same thing. We thought we had it narrowed down to the cheap plug for the fuel pump but it still craps out only after shutting it off. Do you think its the stator or the voltage regulator as if we unplug the pump and reconnect it SOMETIMES it restarts and sometimes it doesn't and now my sons m7 crapped out once and did not restart untill we put fuel down the exhaust manifold and with it firering wiggled the fuel plug and it kept. running. Sled has run ever since BUT we don't know what we did to fix it. Any Advice ???Thanks Garry

H mmmmmmmmm

Couple of thoughts on your sled fleet.

1. entirely different engine /fuel / brain set up between your 05m5 and the other M7 !!!

2. Starting a warm efi cat often requires giving it a fair amount of throttle, unlike inital start cold where you just want to leave that throttle alone and pull the rope. So you've probably tried that ........some throttle and pull.

3. The only similarities between the m5 and m7 is chassis.........so check that the taillight wire on this vintage sled is not shorting out on the aluminum tunnel, generally where it tucked under the plastic bumper /tailight / flap mount setup........... in fact just save yourself some time and reroute it and wrap it in rubber tape or something so you know this is not a problem.

4. IF !!!.....you have the throttle open or wide open when you hit the kill switch and kill the engine.............timeout, you may have to just let it sit for 5 minutes before you start it. No sure what I mean.........just ride along at 20mph or so @1/8 throttle or so and reach over and hit the kill switch coast to a stop and try and start it.........often times you'll think you broke the dam thing.........not so, just give the gas in there time to evaporate and clean out. 1/4 throttle and pull the rope, she''ll start.
