I can't find where to unplug the antenna from the back of the OEM radio and where to plug the new adapter in at. Am I going to need to take the entire dash apart for this thing, or take the glove compartment out, or... ???

From what I see on ARRC, there's not a lot to it. One connector with about a dozen wires coming out of it to speakers, then the coax antenna.

hmm, the schematic is kinda funny but it looks like that coax may be on that connector itself.

to the connector on the schematic...

That stereo doesn't have the digital radio system in it, does it? There's another box for that the digital antenna goes into...

yeah, its one connector that I have a kit to splice right into without cutting up the OEM harness.

hmmm... unless the adapter I have is an actual crimp connector, there is supposed to be a connector under the dash that you unplug from the head unit and plug into this adapter. That might be the hang up and might wind up driving back down to Ogden to get this POS installed tomorrow.

edit: the coax is on the oposite side of the head unit from that connector, and its hard-lined in. I'm hoping there is a disconnect somewhere further up in the dash.

I've attached a pic of the connector in the schematic... my first attachment on the new SW :)
?? I don't see it.

Pretty sure it doesn't have the digital, only have the one male connector going into the back of it, the other female one is empty and as I understand it thats the connector that goes to the digital module.

edit:

Looking at the box the kid gave me, I think I have the wrong one. I need the non-onstar one and I have the onstar one.

Have this one but I think I need this one. No wonder I've been having such a headache trying to figure out where all those extra wires are supposed to connect :(

I'd bet that's the problem too.

oh.... heh... uhm.... okay...
not literally :p its unbolted, unhooked from most of the stuff and half way sitting in the hole it came out of.

Doesn't just pull out? Maybe a twist-lock deal? Perhaps a tab or latch that has to be smashed in to remove it?
Nope, it runs into the head unit and there is a metal piece of the head unit casing that is crimped onto the coax.

This would be easier to 'splain if I could hook my camera up to this POS computer my parents bought.

btw, pm inbound.
