Need help/info on gearing 03 RMK

At the end of last season, I picked up an 03 RMK700 with a 151. I got to ride it a couple times on the flats but no mountain trips yet. It seemd to run fine.
Over the summer, I have been going over the entire sled.

One thing I found is that the gears are 19/36 with a 70P chain. That's a 1.89 ratio. Is that going to hurt me at higher elevation (5-7000ft)??
What is the stock gear set up on these?
What's a good all round set?

Gearing

My manual says 19-39 with a 72P chain. 800 has same gearing.

56-42.36 helix 800 has 58-42.36 helix.

I don't think it would hurt you to put a 41T on the bottom. Need a 74P cahin according to the manual.

gearing

Shoot for 1.95 or 2.05 ratio. It will be easier on the belt and more importantly it will hold the track speed on the hard climb and in deep powder.

when you run in the mountains I would run 19/42 with 74p chain. it works very well and will pull hard

thanks guys for the ideas. I'm building my parts list...........!
The clutching is off too, black/green spring with 10-64's was too much at 4500'.
The parts in the sled right now are all "good" parts, just the wrong ones. Don't know anything about team secondarys either, but that still has to come apart to see what's in there.
The previous owner used this at low elevation trail riding.

Team Secondary

The helix number is stamped on the back side of the clutch where the helix mounting bolts are. You don't need to take it apart to see what you have other than to check the spring.

The Polaris spec is blk/grn on the primary.

7043063 on secondary. Manual states blk/red (black).

You can always upgrade to SLP clutch and exhaust springs and use their piping chart for recomendations. It's downloadable on their website.

You should also check your exhaust valve springs. green/yellow for 0-4000' and orange for above 4000'.
