Need help getting sled to run

I have a 2002 ski doo mini z. It sat for a few years, and wouldnt start, so I took it apart and cleaned everything out, carb included.
It starts now on full choke, but will not run unless it is on full choke, actually runs darn good. Push the choke in and she shuts right off. I honestly dont have a clue what to do next.

Funny thing, I have a Honda EX1000 generator that is about 13 years old, same carb on it as the mini z, and guess what? SAME DARN PROBLEM!

I could sure use some help on these.
Thanks in advance. If anyone has some real clues or solutions, could you send it to me in a pM?

pilot

Did you pull the pilot jet and clean it?I does it even have a pilot jet? Sounds like a plugged pilot circuit. Pilot fuels idle

You still have something plugged in the carb. Sorry all I got.:face-icon-small-hap
I have a xc 120 I have to tear into too.

Maybe not related, but we had this problem with our 440 a/c touring sled that didn't get much use, we could start it if we took out the plugs and put sprayed some starter fluid and put the plugs back in and full choke it would run for a little while then it would cut out. I think the problem was the diaphragm was dry and we had to open 'er up and put some fuel on it. Maybe that's your problem as well? Good Luck!

had the same problem on an old 583 skidoo, took out the carbs and soaked them in a mix of gas and seafoam for a couple of days, worked great....

I've never looked at a mini z but if you are sure everything is good in the carbs I would try to get a kit for the fuel pump. the plastic diaphram will dry out and quit working.

My father just experienced the same thing on a mini z I purchased for my nephews...

THERE IS SOMETHING STILL STUCK IN THE CARB!!!

He soaked ours for a day or so and then went at it with a blow nozzle to assure everything was cleaned out.

Works and idles perfectly now!!!

Still something blocking fuel supply in the carb. Runs on choke because the air supply is restricted on choke(not enough fuel).

Is the carb simular to the old phazer carbs? If so youl need to clean out all the little transfer ports its a pain in the ***.. I use a welding torch cleaning tool on some of them and brake cleaner (Carquest non chlorinated) is my favorite
