I sold a complete takeout rear 154" skid.. Any experiences on the best way to ship it.. I'm assuming if I leave it alone and box it up it will be very expensive. I could collapse it and cut down on box size too? Also.. what about taking it to a shipping/transport company? Any ideas or input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I shipped a m10 to canada a couple years ago. I collapsed it, took some cardboard to cover up any sharp edges that needed protected then used a bunch of shrink wrap, taped it off and took it to fed ex. If I remember correctly I cost around $150 at the time.

I recently shipped a complete Mountain Tamer, Float2 shocks, axle, upper and rear idlers, anti-stab, slidekick scratchers, and 155" rails to Canada. I took it apart; the Mtn Tamer and stuff went into one box, the Float2s went back into the Fox box I got them in and the rails went into the box I got my KMOD rails in. Shipped to BC, Canada was $120 for all three boxes.

I have shipped several over the years. I have found the best way is to remove all the wheels and place between the rails, wire or zip tie into place. Place mounting bolts back into ends of shafts and tighten. unbolt shock ends to allow skid to collapse and then secure closed.

Place one or tow layers of cardboard over ends of rails, ends of shafts, anything that needs extra protection. Then shrink wrap the heck out of it! Slap a lable on it and ship it. Eric

I'd disassemble the entire thing get the box as small as possible, cause weight and dimensions are the biggest factors

Sent from my super duper sweet iPhone using Tapatalk when I should be doing something productive!

I had one shipped to me last fall from another snowest member, we were splitting the shipping costs on it, so he sent the rails seperate in one box, and the rest of the skid in another box. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but it was for sure a lot cheaper then sending it as one unit.

Try Greyhound. Seriously. I shipped a few hoods back in the day, when we had hoods

X2. I have shipped Elk horns with Greyhound. They were the cheapest and they did a good job. You could even just shrink wrape it with them.

Have you tried asking if anyone was going that direction, where are you shipping it. Lot guys traveling for shows right now.
