NEED HELP! 07 800r

ok heres the deal... ive got a light bog or sputter when i am just on flat ground playing around, and this is about 90% of the time. and when i climb it just loses power and have to turn and go back down, i make it down and go right back up and it shoots up the hill effortlessly:confused: then the same day when this problem came up it would only rev up to 6500 rpm , i had a broken lower exhaust valve so i replaced it thinking i fixed the problem, but i still encounter this stuck at 6500 every once in a while. before all of this i had a big back fire while starting it, that is when these probs began.
things i checked...that are all fine.
exhaust valves
heads
pistons&rings
plugs
reeds
boots
vacuum hoses
so i am lost. please anybody, got any suggestions.
help a fellow snowester out!

Same problem.

I have the almost the same problem. Mine has a mid sputter but cleans out on the top. Starts at about 3500 and quits at about 5000. I dropped the needle one clip and it helped but somthing is still wrong. I have ran this sled for two years with this set up and never had this problem. I have checked the following items does anyone have any good ideas.
DPM
computer connection
exhaust valves/diaphrams/sprins
carbs
compression
replaced plugs
vacum lines

What am i missing?

I had a problem like that, it was around 6700-7200 rpm putzing along from a play area to another. It was more like a surge than a bog. Thought it was clutches or a raves. The dealer was stumped for the longest time, they went through it a dozen times. Turned out to be a casting flaw in one of the carborators from when the carbs were manufactured. It was only one carb. I have read of a few people that had the carb casting flaw problem. Fixed mine right up! Might want to check it out.

WOW....that is a good one to know. I would never have considered the carbs other than the setup. Can you elaborate on the actual casting issue so one might know were to look.

I had a similar situation, and it was 2 things:
1) Rave valve lines need to be zip tied, there is a slight vacuum leak
2) Oil pump had to be adjusted as it was running way too rich, as I switch from Doo oil to Amsoil

Not sure if this will help you, might be worth checking?

Sounds like the same kind of thing I have but why now ? My problem just now
started. Is it a give it some time kind of problem? I'm almost ready to spend $110 on selinoids (if that's how it's spelled) I was told that might b a problem. Keep them suggestions coming,, I'm desperate to get this fixed
by the way thanks for the info so far. Zack.

Yeah thats sounds strange that it just now started. Mine did it from the get go and I complained about it several times until I really made them get into it and investigate. They couldn't replicate it because they were just running the sled on a stand. I too ziptied all the Rave valve lines and I put a very small worm gear clamp/pipe clamp on the rave line on the solenoid and got rid of the pinch clamp that doo had on there. The problem ther eis that the nipple on the solenoid is like 1/8" and the hose onto it is like 1/4" so it leaks air without getting it really tight on there.

I am not sure exactly where the casting flaw was in the carb, it was found by the dealer and a new set of carbs was put in. It now runs like a raped-ape.
