NEED HELP! 05' M7 studdering at 6000 RPM

I have a 2005 M7 153 with a MBRP can on it. When just ditch riding and hit the gas it will studder for a few seconds but then seems to clean itself out and open up. But if you ease into it and take your time it wont do it but who the hell wants to do that! The guy i bought it from said that the can doesnt hold enough heat or something i was wondering if anyone had any imput on it! Thanks

I've got the same sled exactly as you do bud, same length track, same can, there are definitelly a couple things you can do to clean that up. One problem is in clutching. And another is the oil pump over oiling in stock trim. I've read that the stock can seems to work about the best on the m7, but I can't notice a difference between stock and my MBRP, they both loaded up and crapped out on bottom before I tweeked on a few things.

I've reclutched mine which was huge, and am now am out two turns on the oil pump rod, and still burning a bit to much oil. Kinda starting to feel like my oil pump might be sticking a bit also. But each turn on the rod, I noticed the bottom end cleaning up. Since I have tweeked a few things, I've got it really cleaned up, the only time that it even gurgles a bit now is if I cruise down the trail in lowerer RPMs, and don't vary the throttle at all for a while, and then get back on it. PM me if you want some pointers on stuff to try on your clutching if your up for it.

Good luck

Oh, another thing is that the powervalves get gummed up sometimes and you got to pull them out and clean them. You should also check the adjustment on the powervalve cables, when I checked mine at 500 miles, they were almost a 1/4" to long, thus not pulling them all the way open. Just adjusting the cables and cleaning the valves made a huge difference on midrange that time.

have an 06 m7 did the same thing at 5800 t0 6000 rpm put a speedwerx can on it and it made it worse. put a pure logic box on it added fuel to the bottem and mid cleaned it right up. the 05 and 06 had a lean spot at that rpm

I did a little reserch on it and i fould out that the stock M's run to much fuel pressure. 45 to 50 PSI and when rode around home on the flat land the tend to load up so i found a fuel pressure regulator on ebay. you just put this on your fuel line and can adjust it to a lower PSI i have herd 40 PSI. I have mine ordered and coming so i hope it works!

X2. You nailed it. Buddy of mine also has an 05 M7. Has always had that gurgle/bog. Stock, D&D pipe, and now 900 BB, always had it no matter what kind of mods he did. He just put on a fuel pressure regulator and problem solved. Not sure what he is running for pressure now though.
