I have two Yamaha Exciters, one 1988 and one 1991 exciter II. I am new to sleds and am looking for somewhere to get clutch rebuild kits, tools, and advice on these clutches. Any ideas?

Get two books: 1) Factory Shop manual 2) Aaen's Clutch tuning handbook.
www.sledparts.com and www.shadetreepowersports.com are good sources for parts and tools along with the factory Yamaha parts from the dealer.
I have a whole Exciter primary clutch for sale if you are interested.

thanks for the info, ill look into just rebuilding mine first then if that doesn't work maybe ill ne in the market for the complete unit
Any Yami dealer can get you parts, most of mine come from online dealers. Before you dump money into those clutches, inspect the ribs on the back sides. These were very prone to fatigue fractures. I bought three of these primary clutches on ebay before I got one with no hairline cracks.
