Need electrical help quick!!!!

So my 08 D8 ECU fried today at the bottom of a canyon and towing it out isn't going to happen. A buddy lent me the electronics of his 09 D8 and the thought is to drop back in, swap em out, climb back out, and tow it home.

Now the problem (I think). I have an SLP race ported engine with a pipe, airbox, etc........and a custom programmed ECU. I'm afraid his stock programming may not give me enough fuel and burn it down. I also have a BD NOS system with a control box that I've never messed with. Can I set it up to add more fuel even when not using the nitrous or is it only for when on the button? Sorry, I'm ignorant when it comes to the control boxes.

If I do just run the stock box, I'd guess staying out of the midrange would be a good idea, and short bursts of throttle would most likely be best. Anyone have any input on this situation? I've gotta get this thing out of the canyon before it starts snowing again, or someone decides to part it out for me.

Should be fine wicking the throttle. Do a plug check right away to see. If it is lean, set your box to N2o and add the fuel points needed and run with the button on when needed. The regulator may notice the drop in N20 pressure once the tank is empty but you may be able to keep the fuel values if you stay on the button even once the tank is dry. Worth a try. Let us know how it went. EW

thing you have to worry about is what caused the ECU to blow. typically the V-regulator goes out taking the ecu with it. There are times when the 600.00 helicopter isnt that much.

Well, I took off early this morning so I just had to wing it. I figured the regulator took out the ecu so I just took the whole clutch cover panel with all the electronics out of my buddy's sled so I knew all the parts were good. Installed the good parts and it fired up first pull (kinda surprising since it was 2 degrees). Let it warm up so I didn't cold seize the motor, checking periodically to make sure the ecu wasn't getting hot. Then added fuel to every rpm range on the BD box and rode out. Figured since it was running so fat, I could make it back to the snow park. 10 miles of blipping the throttle gets kinda old but I guess it's better than towing.

Could have been a lot worse. Thanks for the replies :)
