need clutching advice. tra on mnt cat

i feel like i'm in enemy terittory and have a set of cross hairs on me. i'm installing a tra 3 on my mnt cat with a 1000 cutler and would like to know a starting point. i know the cat and polaris clutches very well but i'm totally lost when it comes to the tra, i have a basic concept of the way it works but clueless on the ramps, pins ect. i dynoed the motor on a very conservative dyno at 180hp @ 7900 with 118 ft/lbs. i would be very interested in hearing some starting points.

altitude- 5000 - 8000
track- 144x16x2.5
stock cat secondary.
the reason for the tra is the quick clickers. i find myself changing weights daily and all my buddies that run scud are done in seconds with no grease on their hands, all my other buddies that don't have the tra just live with the over or under rev wich is crazy to me.

Here's a long thread on the TRA. Goes over some theory, etc...

If you can get through the chaff, there's some very good info on there.

Have you already machined it to fit the Cat crank? If not, I would take a serious look at keeping the Cat clutch. 5-8000 is not a big altitude change and should work very good without changing weights (or anything else) at those altitudes.
I think you will really fight making the TRA work with the cat secondary, it has a relatively weak backshift....maybe a Team would be a better match.
Cat primary, Team secondary would be my choice.
If you do go TRA, just use a 200/320 spring, use a ramp like what came in the Summit and get a set of adjustable pin weights. Experiment with different weight and helix angles, I would think you would need a very shallow helix in the Cat secondary, like something around a 42 and red/white spring to match the force from the TRA.

Both my sons run 1M 900 Cats,...TRADERS.... Both run the Cat primary and Team secondary, there sleds go good. But I am not much help to ya as I dont know there set ups:face-icon-small-blu. But as Winter said its a good combo. Dino

We installed a TRA on my buddies 900 cat and it flat out ran... He took the clutch to a machine shop and they machined it to fit that cat. they only charged him 40 bucks.. we started with 300 ramps and a yellow primary on clicker 2 turns 8300rmp...He loves it

ive been told to go with 415 ramps and a purple/purple spring. to help me out is the higher the # less or more aggresive or am i totally screwed up?
