I have a 99 phazer 500 sx chassis. I took the secondary clutch off to clean it and I cant remeber how far to twist the helix. I have the spring in the same holes that they came out of but Im not sure if I have it twisted far enough. What i mean by that is I twist it with minumal effort and can get the helix to slide over the studs to tighten it down. Im just wondering if I need to twist it farther, its very hard to get it twisted to the next set of holes. I noticed that I can put the belt over the secondary shiv and it sticks up the way its suspose to, I then install everything and run it and the belt wont come up all the way on the shiv like its suspose to, this is why I am thinking that I dont have the helix twisted enough and not having enuf pressure to make the belt ride up all the way on the shiv. Does any of this make sense to you guys, damn mite have confused myself.

redbull660,
You'll want to twist the helix clockwise until the buttons line up with the helix ramps. Then twist the helix a little farther as required until the studs are lined up with the holes in the helix.
Normally this is easier to do while the secondary is on the sled as this help hold things still for you.
