you just tell him you where helping the home owner, home owner is aloud to do it with out a card

I plan on helping the average home owner. The home owner will have to handle the permits if they want, and i guarantee my work will pass inspection.

I'm also a plumber and I've done quite a bit of sidework. If you're not insured, be very careful of the projects you take on. Doesn't take much for people to sue, whether it's your fault or not.
