Ok i have an 07m8...i got 2010 jugs and head. I ordered 2010 piston and gasket kit and just realized the 2010 piston may not fit my connecting rod. I checked the parts manual difference and it shows a different piston and connecting rod number between before and after 2010 so i figured the 2010 piston will not work. But then i checked the con rod bearing and they were the same which tells me that my connecting rod eye is exactly the same. Am i ok with the 2010 pistons in what we know is ok with the 2010 jugs and head on a pre 2010. Someone must know since a ton of folks have put the 2010 jugs on an earlier model....did you use 2010 pistons also and get away with it..?? Thanx

We've found that aftermarket Pistons (wiseco) only offer one piston from 07-16. 07-09 pistons &10+ ho pistons do differ but not 100% sure how. With 2010ho you'll want the ho pistons. It's probably height differences for port arrangement.

ok..so i assume the connecting rod throw distance from the crankshaft would be the same..and the distance from wrist pin center to piston dome top is the same. So you are confirming that with me putting the H/O jugs and cylinder head on my 07 that i should be ok with the h/o pistons and that it is actually the only way it should be done...am i understanding ya correct. thanks a ton for the response..

i did go to the wiseco site and the part number for the 07 to 09 is different then the part number for the H/O engine..??..i hope the difference is only in the piston boss widths which can be dealt with so i can use these pistons coming on my connecting rod.

Maybe it was spi not wiseco, buddy has a 800ho based d&d hillcross imp motor & he was cheaping out avoiding cat pistons. The 800ho has porkchopped crank & more aggressive porting & higher comp than 07/09. Still a 794 with same diameter piston so stroke has to be the same. Best verification would be to contact Thunder101. I know he did exactly as your looking into.

Since I couldn't handle not knowing the 100% certain diff lol, the ho has diff head, porting, lightened crank, diff y pipe, pipe, muffler, timing. The pistons on the two differ to match the port timing

So a possibly different timing key...i have a 2 degree advanced one from my bigbore..

i will message him this weekend...there was also that fella with the avatar with the hat and crazy look. and i think tongue sticking out..i forget his handle but he was putting H/O jugs on his 09..

Im going to stick with my 900 bigbore Fat ass pipe as it just needs the mounting holes round a few though to fit and the opening is bang on and will try and tune it in with fuel pressure or my controller...try it first anyway..
