need advice on goggles

My hubby and I need new goggles. Ours are old Scott flo or something but, the lenses are scratched and they are just getting worn out after 7-8 years. We are looking at more Scotts but are unsure. We also want to get the same frames so we can swap lenses. I'm really a pain because I need the blue for bright sun, yellow or pink for flat light and clear at night. DH doesn't care what color he wears most of the time. What is everyone's recommendation and experience with newer goggs?

I would stick with Scott's. I just got back from riding with my new klim googles they are ok but my 5 year old Scott's were better way less fogging when stopped then the kilms. plus you could buy 3 Scott's googles for the price of 1 klim.

Here is my opinion, I've ridden with them all scott, oakley, 509, and Klim. My top recommendation is either the new Klim or 509. A friend of mine is like you needs blue lenses for bright days, etc. While he was messing around switching lenses on a bright day with 2 ft of pow, i let him borrow my Klims to see what he thought of them, they are the polarized lenses so they help tremendously in sunlight. he rode with them the rest of the day and didnt wanna give them back, said the polarized lenses acted alot like the blue also said no problems with fogging and we were stopped/stuck alot.. IMO Klim or 509......My scott googles dont move from the bottom of my bag anymore, was just not my type of google. Also remember that most fogging issues come from the helmet/google combination and fit. Just my .02

Opinions, opinions! My new faves are the 509 polarized aviators. I rode with the Scott light sensitive lens for years and still feel that is a VERY good goggle but hard to find anymore since Scott changed their frame style. I think that with most goggles, fitment to your helmet, balaclava or not, and personal style and lighting all come into factor. So, my opinion is to stick with something polarized for an all around goggle and get another spare for different riding conditions like extremely snowy weather where a amber/orange/yellow tint seems to be the best.

Goggles

There is 12 million posts on goggles here. The same Ford/Chevy type comparisons prevail throughout. I think the best goggle would be one that magically cools your body temperature to the point where you will never sweat, ever. And breathes for you so you don't have to. Otherwise, it doesn't matter what color your lenses are, prepare to swap goggles.

??? Googles

I've had Scott's years ago and ran spy's for ever but I lost them so I just picked up some 509s. I like them but don't get any chrome lenses, 5 rides and there scratched to crap...not sure why I'm not rubbing them to death and never suffered this in the past, just looking at the other new set that are in the 509 bag( never used) and there is a small scratch in them all ready. Going to find a polarized lenses and we will see.
My buddy bought smith and loves them! Great warrant too.

My goggles are Bolle, bought them at costco; but I see costco now carries the snowboarder style goggles; the kind that fits their helmets.

They never fog, and are great for all lighting conditions. I believe the model is called Nova.

Take your Helmets with you to the shop and try on goggles w/ breath box if you use one. It doesn't matter what goggles you get if you don't get a good air tight fit around your face and everyones face is shaped differently. Goggles also come in many different fits and sizes. I run Oakley Splice and the Airbrake in a TLD helmet with breath box.
Ex. - I know that my goggles are some of the best made, but kept fogging while wearing my TLD helmet, but never fog in my ski helmet. So i modified my breath box so i would get a perfect seal around my face and presto! No more fogging. So fit is very important. If you get Oakley goggles the H.I. yellow lens is the bomb in flat light.
