How does the difference in elevations effect the weather.
We have a trip planned to the Snowies next week (16-19th).
Weather channel has highs for Centennial in the upper 40's and lower 50's.
What's it going to be like on the mountain?
Are we too late, what can we expect?

where do u from?
depend on the tempture on the mountain. sometime it feel cold. sometime it feel warm when the sun come out.
if its your frist time trip to the snowies, better ask for tour or someone else on this site.

Coming from MN.
Been to the Snowies 2 years ago.
Just concerned about the temps, looking at Centennials forcast thing don't look good for next week.

No worries

There may not be hood deep powder, but there will be MORE than enough snow. Was out there a week ago, and once on the hill we checked the snow depth with our probes and never hit ground (230 cm probe). I would not worry about some warmer days. I have been thinking about making a return trip in early April. The forecast for Centennial is always warmer than it is up on the hill.

As TMK50 said.
I use point forcast.
You can use the detailed point forcast (little map in the lower right corner) to get anywhere on the mountain you want.
Definetlly plenty of snow to ride, I think north french creek is showing close to 90".

I got a kick out of when we were there two years ago, no snow in Centennial but drive 6-7 miles west (and up) and the snow was deeper than our rig.

I new there was going to be plenty of snow but when we were there it was so warm during the day and freeze at night we had cooling issues till the sun came up enough and softened things up.

I'm a little gun shy things may be the same.

Just wanted to hear from a couple locals "what happens on the mountain is far from the down low, don't worry about it and come on out"

Been looking forward to this trip for awhile
