Not real sure what your talking about here? What sled are you having this issue with? I'm going to guess that something else is wrong if you are pluging your intake in 4 inches of power.

I agree with the post above. If your intake is clogging in 4" of snow then you have something else wrong. My intake doesnt clog unless Im continously riding in over the windshield powder and every sled will clog eventually in those conditions.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say, he probably meant to say 4 feet of powder.????

Yes the stock air intake doesn't work perfect in those conditions. So throw a couple of axillary holes in the stock Pentium right through the hood. Frogzskin's work great for that. No big deal!

I,m sorry i did mean 4 feet of powder. If i put two flow rights just above the flexible hose on hood side air intake. It would suck hot air, would this affect trottle reponse?

my buddy is running the timbersled intake and meshed the whole nose and vented the crap out of the hood, the thing has no problem with bogging in over the whole sled powder, and he made some big vents for those semi flat spots around the spedo, and it runs like a champ and has great throttle response compared to stock.

'09s are the same intake as the others.

Does anyone know if this is any good? I dont wanna get to carried away this winter cause i dont wanna ruin the warranty i have. Thanks. http://startinglineproducts.com/catalog.cfm?pageID=detail&catalogID=2&catID=6&productID=980

I haven't used it much but my buddy has and he didn't notice hardly any difference. If you are going to do an intake get a timbersled or a BDE and you wont ever look back. They both work Great as long as they get the right amount of air as said above by adding frogskins. As far as hot air and throttle response this has been a heavily debated topic in almost every type of motorsports. I personally have seen NO difference in having the intake take in a little hot air. Some will argue with me though

Your best bet is to train your mind on how to ride knowing your going to get the bog.
The stock intake does plug, but so do all the others. I constantly reach over the windshield and wipe the intake vents while riding, or with my bd intake, know when to rock the sled so as to clear the intake. I've also pulled the heat shield up a little bit which gives me a little underhood air as I run a mesh hood and my underhood temps aren't anything close to what a stock hood would be.

You can install florites behind your winshield, and block off the headlight area under the hood. There is a small intake vent which will draw air when the outer vents are clogged.

anybody running cutlers air box? is it worth $260? does that still use the side vents by the windshield or how does that work?
