I need to gain 250 rpms on my 07 m1000 with a four post clutch. I am currently running two 65g and two 63g and getting 7400 rpms at 7000ft. How much will my rpms raise if I go with Four 63g weights.

really? different weights??

obviously less weight = more rpm

Getting the right setup is all about field tuning. Won't know until you try it.

Something seems wrong, if you are looking for 7650 rpm you must have a pipe and when I had my 07 piped I was running 68g in all 4 and pulling 7550 at 7000ft.

But yes 63g should get it up there, what are your mods and clutching?

My dealer installed 2 65g and 2 68g for me at 9000ft and my clutch broke not long after that, run all the weights the same.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have adjustable weights so changing them in the hill is a bit difficult. I have rkt head and clutch kit 34/36 with speedwerx blue spring. STM valves, ported, d&d air intake, speedwerx pipe, superQ can. I ride between 7-11000 ft. I'll try 63g weights. I just didn't want to over rev by adding to much weight and waste a whole day of riding.

I would suggest keeping all the weights the same on the four arm clutch.

Also It might be cheaper to install a new primary spring with a heavier finish rate to get the R's you want. (plus if you really wanted to you can change the spring in the field to get exactly what you want.) (Might need an extra hand to get the cap screws started but can be done)

IMO I like lighter weights. They are less rotation weight, the sled is snappy and if sprung right work just the same. Try a spring with a 310-330 finish rate and see what happens.

Actually its not too bad changing on the hill, the biggest pain is bringing along the loctite for the set screw on the new style weights. The cat pry bar and bracket for holding the clutch open aren't very big and fit in my seat. I have also seen a few guys make there own smaller prybar for opening the clutch.
