Need 06 TApex Help

Out riding today and it works fine going up the trail. About a mile from the cabin, it starts stuttering and cutting out. Tough starting and idles rough once you get it going. Disconnected the TORS and code 84 came in like it should. Bypassed the TORS by connecting white and black wires same as the manual shows. It runs good for a while, then starts doing the same thing again. Repeated this several times. If you let it sit for a while, it seems to run goodfor a while, then acts up again.

Any ideas appreciated as I want to ride tomorrow.

MCXpress turbo kit.

Thanks

I've had problems with mine a couple times acting up. It turned out that the fuel control box had condensation inside. A little shot of compressed air will do wonders for it.

The fuel control box I'm talking about is the MCX fuel controller. It should be an aluminum case with four screws holding the cover on. If it's an 06 MCX kit, they had you mount it under the intercooler on the front of the battery box.

No, you can't bypass the TPS ( throttle posistion sensor ), But you can go into the computer and check it. I don't remember the steps, but someone else on here can tell you, when mine went bad it didn't want to idle and ran real rough at low throttle posistions, but was okay at wide open. Then if I let it sit for a while it might run okay for about 10 miles then start acting up again. Just something to check. The 06 Apex's had some that went bad, I think they fixed the problem on the newer ones.

Thanks TK, when we opened the fuel controller, it was half full of water and the wire grommers were facing up. Opened it up, pulled out the ice, put the hair dryer on it and resealed. Ran like atop today.

Many thanks!!!:beer;

I moved my box from under the intercooler to on the steering post....Had problems with water....havent had any since I moved it..see picture

I fought with mine for about 5 or 6 rides last year until I figured it out by accident. It got condensation in it again this year except this time it did the hard to start thing and then it just shut off going down the trail. Now I have an RB3.
