We finally had some sunshine today after endless April snowshowers. The snowdepth is unreal, we haven't lost 1" of snow to date. I noticed some boulders I've been avoiding for the last 25 years are buried. Here's a couple pictures of spring in Lamoille Canyon. It looks as though we'll more than likely have rideable snow into June.

Our snowpack has NOT dropped at all since late Feb. In fact, it's deeper...by a good foot.

My photos arent as good as "ADDICT'S"... I dont have a photographer, mine are pulled off video... and EVERY YEAR he gets AWESOME shots! "ADDICT", that is a SWEEET pic shootin' the cornice! (MAN... your nuts!) Im afraid of OVER-SHOOTING it. Heres some more from a few days prior...

Define "good".... nothing like the HUGE parking areas elsewhere in the west. BUT, this time of year the congestion fades as the "average" sledders are hangin it up for the season. A "local" camps up ther with a similar setup right at the turn-around or along the road. The "local" RULE is to just leave a "drive-thru" space at the turnaround. so rigs with trailers can loop around and park along the road. 4 rigs there today. (including the camp)

2' of FRESH POWDER today! (4-27-2011) That canyon is LOADED with snow!!!!

Scott: GOTTA GO THIS WEEKEND!!! Headed for the sierra's thurs and fri, will be back for the weekend. IT is INSANE how good it is up there right now!

Joe, I'll be headed up Saturday morning, or possibly afternoon, depending on when the clouds from the next front pass. We are supposed to get another 4" to
6" Friday. The riding this weekend should be as good or better than last. I love endless winters. Wishes do come true. There's several real good camping spots in the lower reaches of the Canyon along the boy scout camp access road that are dry.
