I am going to Phoenix for my first cup race! I found a couple of websites that list radio frequencies for teams, radio, tv, race control, etc. Does anyone know about the radio & tv frequencies? Is it the full broadcast like I listen to at home? Or, is it just the channel used when announcers talk with a driver during the race?

If it is just the brief conversations between announcers and drivers, then is there a local low power AM/FM signal from MRN (PRN) at each race? Should I take a small AM/FM radio in addition to the scanner?

If you buy a scanner at the Racing electronics trailer it will be programmed with all the frequencies, MRN, TV,etc. there is always an update the morning of the cup race. Not sure on the am/fm broadcast, i do know that they do not do that at KC. Hope this helps, Aaron

Even if you have your own scanners there is a Radio Shack booth at Vegas anyway that will program them for 5 bucks. Gives you cup and Nationwide cars.
