Mystery hose connection - pic

A month after tearing it down I am putting the top end back together. I just noticed this hose (my right hand is holding) is just hanging loose down near the bottom end.

Is it supposed to be plugged into something? Or does it not connect to anything and just let out some fumes/pressure?

You can see it goes to the over structure which is laying there upside down for now.

Thanks in advance for any help. Trying to get her back on the snow tomorrow.

Hose

That hose is not going to be connected to anything.that hose is for drain or moisture to leak from and believe me the oil comes out of it. So put it in a place where it can drain out the bottom

Thats the drain hose for the power valve solenoid. from the factory its just zip tied to the vertical steering post. If you leave it in the engine bay it does make a mess of things, if you route it to the outside.... no more mess and it will work just fine 90-95% of the time. That 5-10% of the time it can get iced over and screw with your power valve operation. Eric

Awesome guys! Thanks for the info and the tip on routing. I just cleaned out all the oil gunk from the engine bay and was wondering how it got that nasty in there. Makes sense now! :present:

route it over to come out right in front of the exhaust and behind the bracket that protects the exhaust outlet, i drilled a hole and ran my hose and don't have a ice problem and no more mess

Exactly what I did to mine after total engine removal, clean up, and rebuild.
