In 2011 I bashed the stock front bumper on my Pro-- and dented my pipe. In a pinch, I put a stocker back on it.
2012 our snow year was bad and I only rode 1500 miles and got lucky-- no front end impacts.
This summer I knew I wanted to buy new bumpers for the 11 and 12. I procrastinated, I researched, I procrastinated some more.....
Well my luck ran out..... Dropped the sled into a creek and it free fell about 8 feet and landed upside down on the stock bumper. The stock bumper was definitely not designed for that impact. Dented another stock pipe...Doh!
I knew I needed a beefier bumper.
After returning home and doing more research, I contacted Van Amburg and talked to Liz, told her I needed two bumpers. "Let me check to see what we have." She hands the phone to Mike, "we have two steel ones in stock, ready to go." Perfect. I was willing to sacrifice weight for strength.
Give Liz my credit card and she asks for my email to send directions. Perfect.
Couple hours later, I have directions in one email, and tracking info in another.
Two days later, box is at my door, and the install begins.
Directions are VERY detailed, and bolt holes line up.
Bumpers look good and I am stoked. The bumpers are waaaaayy stouter than the stock bumpers and they are tied into the bulkhead on the bottom.
